Trevecca Men's Soccer | Trojans Haden Brown, Hunter Walker Earn GSC Weekly Honors

NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer players Haden Brown and Hunter Walker earned Gulf South Conference weekly honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 6, the second week of the 2026 GSC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards.

Brown was selected as the GSC Defender of the Week, while Walker was named the GSC Goalkeeper of the Week.

The pair helped the Trojans secure a 1-0 road victory at No. 19 Carson-Newman, the first win for Trevecca at Carson-Newman in program history.

The victory moved Trevecca to 3-0 for the first time since 2006. The Trojans also broke into the South Region Top 10 last week at No. 7.

HADEN BROWN | GSC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK

Brown, a 6-foot freshman defender from Nashville and Hillsboro High School, provided the game-winning goal in Trevecca's 1-0 victory at No. 19 Carson-Newman.

Brown scored the lone goal of the match while helping the Trojan defense produce a clean sheet against the nationally ranked Eagles.

The honor comes one week after Brown was nominated for the GSC Freshman of the Week award in the opening week of the season.

HUNTER WALKER | GSC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Walker, a 6-foot-1 sophomore goalkeeper from Franklin, Tennessee, produced another shutout in goal for the Trojans against Carson-Newman.

Walker collected six saves against the No. 19 Eagles to preserve the 1-0 victory and record the seventh shutout of his career.

As a freshman, Walker recorded five shutouts, the Trevecca single-season record during the NCAA Division II era.

His seven career shutouts are tied for second most in the program's NCAA Division II era. The Trevecca NCAA Division II era career record is 10.5 shutouts.

Walker was also nominated for GSC Goalkeeper of the Week following the opening week of the 2026 season.

NEXT FOR THE TROJANS

Trevecca returns home Tuesday, Sept. 8, hosting Johnson University at 5 p.m. at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.

The Trojans then open the 2026 Gulf South Conference schedule Saturday, Sept. 12, traveling to face the University of Montevallo at 7:30 p.m. at Varsity Soccer Field in Montevallo, Alabama.

The conference opener matches two teams that have already drawn attention early in the season. Montevallo was selected fifth with 59 points in the 2026 GSC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, while Trevecca was picked eighth with 42 points.

Trevecca enters the week unbeaten at 3-0 and coming off its first victory over a nationally ranked opponent this season.
