NASHVILLE – Calvin da Cunha, an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selection who earned regional and multiple all-conference honors while helping build the foundation of Trevecca men's soccer, is a member of the 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class.
Trevecca Athletics officially announces da Cunha as a member of the 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class. The 2026 Class is scheduled to be inducted during Trevecca's Homecoming Weekend. The induction ceremony for the 2026 Class of the Trevecca Athletics Hall of Fame is set for Saturday, November 7 at 9:00 AM in the Boone Convocation Center on the Trevecca campus.
The 2026-27 school year marks the 125th anniversary of Trevecca's founding in 1901, adding significance to a Hall of Fame class connected to multiple eras of Trevecca Athletics history.
The 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be the largest in Trevecca Athletics history, celebrating the rich Trojan history during the 125th Trevecca Anniversary Celebration.
Da Cunha became a central figure during the formative years of the Trevecca men's soccer program, earning national recognition early in his career and continuing as an all-conference performer throughout his time with the Trojans.
AN ALL-AMERICAN BEGINNING
da Cunha earned NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2005 during his first season with the Trojans.
It was the beginning of a career that eventually included NAIA All-Region XI, TranSouth First Team, TranSouth Second Team, and TranSouth Scholar-Athlete recognition.
da Cunha earned TranSouth First Team honors in 2006 and played in every match on Trevecca's schedule during his sophomore season.
He followed with TranSouth Second Team recognition in 2007.
A PROGRAM FIRST
da Cunha earned NAIA All-Region XI Team, TranSouth First Team and TranSouth Scholar-Athlete honors in 2008.
That season also produced an important program milestone as Trevecca finished 9-2-2, recording the first winning season in the history of Trojan men's soccer.
Da Cunha's career helped connect the program's early seasons with the start of sustained success. The Trojans recorded 26 victories during his four-year career.
He played three seasons under head coach Jeff Carr and was also part of the program during its transition to head coach Denny Leary.
SERVICE AFTER HIS PLAYING CAREER
da Cunha's relationship with Trevecca Athletics continued after his playing career ended.
He served the men's soccer program and athletic department through coaching and staff responsibilities, extending his influence beyond his seasons as a student-athlete.
da Cunha received the Trevecca Athletics Assistant of the Year Award in 2017.
He continued serving the university through logistics planning and athletic department responsibilities, adding a second chapter of service to a Trevecca career that began on the soccer field.
A FOUNDATIONAL TROJAN
da Cunha enters the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame as a nationally recognized student-athlete whose career coincided with the formative years of men's soccer at the university.
His NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honor, NAIA All-Region XI selection, multiple all-conference honors, and role in Trevecca's first winning men's soccer season established his playing legacy.
His continued service through coaching and athletic department roles extended that legacy beyond his playing career and strengthened his connection to multiple generations of Trevecca Athletics.
