Trevecca Volleyball | Hainline Earns Gulf South Conference Top Ten Award Honor

BIRMINGHAM – Trevecca Nazarene University senior volleyball student-athlete Skias Hainline is receiving one of the top honors awarded to a Gulf South Conference student-athlete. Hainline has been named a 2026 Gulf South Conference Top Ten Award recipient, presented by Caldwell Architects. She becomes the second Trojan student-athlete to earn the honor, joining Trevecca softball alum Ashlan Sensing, who received the award in 2025.

A senior setter and team captain for Trevecca Volleyball, Hainline distinguished herself as one of the premier student-athletes in the Gulf South Conference through her accomplishments in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service.

Hainline earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention recognition and AVCA South Region honors while also being selected First Team All-Gulf South Conference. During the 2025 season, she was named Tennessee Sports Writers Association Athlete of the Week, an award recognizing the top collegiate athlete across all NCAA and NAIA levels in Tennessee. She also earned Harding Invitational All-Tournament Team honors and was recognized as Trevecca's Female Athlete of the Year.

Academically, Hainline excelled as a business sports management major with a marketing minor. Her honors include College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America, CSC Academic All-District, GSC All-Academic Fall Sports Team recognition, Trevecca Sports Management Student of the Year, and Trevecca Skinner School of Business Student of the Year.

Beyond competition and academics, Hainline played a significant leadership role across the Trevecca Athletics department and campus community. She served as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president for three years and organized athletic department community service initiatives throughout her collegiate career. Hainline also helped lead the production and hosting of the 2026 TROJYS, Trevecca Athletics' annual student-athlete awards show.

"Skias embodies everything this honor is intended to recognize: elite achievement in athletics, excellence in the classroom, meaningful campus leadership, and uncommon character," Trevecca Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Emily Moore said.

Moore, who also serves as Trevecca's volleyball coach, added, "In my twenty years of coaching, Skias is the finest leader I have ever had the privilege to coach. She possesses a rare ability to understand people, what they need, how to motivate them, and how to care for them well. She leads with both empathy and accountability, balancing compassion with the competitive standards required to win at a high level."

Trevecca First Lady Denise Boone also praised Hainline's impact across campus.

"When I think of a student that embraces the college years with character, strong academics, leadership, and campus participation, all in the midst of a vigorous athletic schedule, none is more deserving than Skias Hainline," Boone said.

"Skias represents the highest standard of what it means to be a student-athlete," Trevecca Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Gregory Ruff said. "In my experience, there has not been a more qualified candidate on our campus for recognition as a Gulf South Conference Top 10 honoree."

The GSC Top Ten Award honors the conference's leading male and female student-athletes for achievements in athletics, academics, and extracurricular activities during 2025-26. From these honorees, one man and one woman will receive the Commissioner's Trophy, the GSC's highest individual award, at the GSC Awards Ceremony. Hainline is under consideration for this distinction.

The 2026 GSC Top Ten honorees represent eight schools and sports, including Trevecca's Skias Hainline (volleyball) among other student-athletes.
