OPELIKA, Ala – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team is playing their opening tournament of the championship semester, the Lawrence Tech University Invitational at the RTJ Grand National - Lake Course. The course is playing to a par of 72 over 6,018 yards. There are eight (8) teams and 43 individuals competing. The 54-hole tournament features a three-day format with 18-holes each day.
In the second round on Wednesday, the Trojans shot a 325 and are in second place for the second day in a row.
Kamryn Vester, playing as an individual, led the Trojans with a four-over-par 76 and is tied for seventh in the field with a 83-76=159.
Mattie Goad is tied for third overall with a 76-80=156
TROJAN HIGHLIGHTS
All of the Trojan golfers finished in the top 15 in the first and second round.
On Tuesday, in the first round, the Trojans opened with a 314 and are in second overall.
Mattie Goad was tied for the lead with a four-over-par 76. The 76 is tied for her second-best collegiate round. She carded a 73 in the fall for her career low.
Emma Almquist and
Makenzie Norwood each carded a 78 in the first round and were tied for fifth overall.
UP NEXT
The Trojans play the third and final round of the LTU Invitational on Thursday.
The Greenwood Invitational follows on March 23-24 at the Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood, S.C.
Subsequent on the schedule is the CSU Cougar Classic in Columbus, Ga. at the Green Island Country Club on March 30-31.
The Trojans play closer to home at the Music City Classic at the Hermitage Golf Course and the General's Retreat in Old Hickory, Tenn. The Cumberland University hosted tournament is April 13-14.
The Trojans host the 2026 Gulf South Championships at the Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. on April 20-21-22.
