GREENVILLE, Tenn. – After dropping three of their first four games of the 2026 season, the Trevecca baseball team has started to find its groove. Over their last six games, the Trojans are averaging 10 runs per game, and unsurprisingly, the Trojans have now won six in a row.
Trevecca (7-3) rapped out their fifth 12-hit game of the season as they leveled their record away from Jackson Field with a 9-5 win at Tusculum University (4-7) on Tuesday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Tuesday's contest was the ninth all-time between the Trojans and the Pioneers, dating back to a 10-1 Trevecca win in the 1993 NAIA District 24 Tournament. Trevecca is now 5-4 all-time against Tusculum. The Pioneers had won the last two meetings in the series, and the Trojans last win in Greenville, Tennessee over the Pioneers came on February 22, 2016 when the teams split a double-header.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tusculum struck first on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning, but in the third, the Trojans began what would become a barrage of long balls. Caleb Webster led off the frame with a lead-off round-tripper - his first of the season - and in the fourth, Miles Nelson duplicated the feat to put the Trojans up 2-1.
Tyler Jenkins followed with a walk, and while he was erased on a fielder's choice one out later, KC Anchors came home on an RBI double from Landon Rogers to push the lead to 3-1. After a pitching change, Webster found his second RBI knock of the game, a single up the middle, that scored Rogers and capped the 3-run inning and sent the game to the bottom of the 4th with Trevecca leading 4-1.
Tusculum scored another single run in the bottom of the fourth frame, and the score remained 4-2 into the sixth when the Trojans broke the game wide open. Trevecca belted a pair of homers - one each from Cade Martin and Cade Moore - as a part of a five run inning that pushed the Trojans' advantage to 9-2. The Trojans also got singles in the inning from Anchor and Rylan Moses, and they capitalized on two Pioneers' errors.
That was plenty of offense for the Trojans on the mound. Five Trojan pitchers appeared in the game, with starter Parker Davis lasting three innings before giving way to Dawson Sweeney. Sweeney tossed a pair of innings, with Luke Boswell, Justin Lee, and Ryan Sweeney combining to cover the final four innings.
Tusculum did score twice in the bottom of the sixth, and they plated a single run in the ninth, but the Trojans were able to prevent any further threats, and they coasted in with the 9-5 win.

NEXT ON THE DIAMOND
Trevecca will jump back into Gulf South Conference play this weekend when they welcome the Blazers of Valdosta State University (3-8, 1-2 GSC) to Nashville for a 3-game weekend set. VSU opened their GSC campaign with a home series loss to Union (Tenn.) last weekend - and two of the games required extra frames to decide them, with each team winning one 10-inning affair. Friday's single game is set for a 3 p.m. first pitch, with Saturday's twin bill scheduled to begin at Noon.
