NASHVILLE - First-place stakes, a six-match winning streak and a milestone just three kills away give Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball fans plenty of reasons to tune in on a fall Friday night as their Trojans visit West Alabama tonight at 6 p.m. CT in Livingston, Alabama.

Trevecca enters 9-8 overall and 6-1 in the Gulf South Conference, sharing first place with West Alabama and UAH. A victory would extend the Trojans' winning streak to seven, give them six consecutive conference victories and mark their eighth win in nine matches.

Winning in Livingston will require something no visiting team has accomplished this season. West Alabama is 9-0 at home, sweeping every match and winning all 27 sets. Even one Trevecca set victory would break that run.

The Trojans bring their own streak into the matchup. Trevecca has swept all four GSC meetings with the Tigers, winning 12 consecutive sets, and leads the all-time series 4-1.

Katilyn Grant's third kill tonight would be her 1,000th collegiate kill. She enters with 997, including 561 at Trevecca, and needs two kills to reach 200 this season.

Brynne Krangnes needs 30 assists to reach 600 for her collegiate career. That performance would also become her ninth consecutive match with at least 30 assists and her 12th this season. Kayla Bullard enters with 582 career digs, needing 18 to reach 600.

The opening set deserves attention, too. Trevecca is 8-0 when winning the first set this season and 1-8 when dropping it.

A perfect home record meets a surging challenger, with first place and personal milestones in play. Friday night's first serve is worth catching.
