Trevecca Men’s Soccer | Trojans Sweep All Four Gulf South Weekly Awards

NASHVILLE – No. 13 Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer swept all four Gulf South Conference weekly awards for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, following two shutout victories that moved the Trojans into a tie for first place.

Chris Douglas earned Offensive Player of the Week, Haden Brown was selected both Defender and Freshman of the Week, and Hunter Walker received Goalkeeper of the Week. Three Trojans accounted for the league's four honors.

Trevecca defeated Spring Hill 4-0 on Oct. 14 before winning 3-0 at No. 10 AUM on Oct. 17. The Trojans outscored their opponents 7-0, established the program's first 11-win season and secured their first home GSC Championship quarterfinal.

The Trojans are No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Poll this week and No. 2 in the NCAA South Region poll. They are No. 14 in this week's NPI ranking.

CHRIS DOUGLAS | GSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#21 | F | 6-0 | JR | St. Johns, Antigua | The Webb School

Douglas produced five goals and an assist for 11 points, putting eight of his nine shots on goal during the week. He scored three times against Spring Hill for his second hat trick of the season, then contributed to all three goals in the victory at AUM.

The junior assisted Daniel Shiel's winner at 6:09 before scoring at 47:31 and 88:37. His first goal matched Jeremiah Wright's NCAA-era career record of 25; his second gave him the record outright with 26 goals at Trevecca.

Douglas also extended his NCAA-era season records to 15 goals and 35 points. His 61 career points tied Nicolas Reinhard for second in the NCAA-era record book, six behind Wright's 67.

In the latest NCAA Division II statistical rankings, Douglas leads the nation in goals per game (1.25) and points per game (2.92). He ranks second nationally in total goals and total points and leads the GSC with four game-winning goals.

HADEN BROWN | GSC DEFENDER & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

#19 | D | 6-0 | FR | Nashville, Tenn. | Hillsboro HS

Brown supplied two assists in each victory while helping the back line produce consecutive clean sheets. His four-assist week pushed his season total to nine, breaking Trevecca's NCAA-era single-season record.

Brown entered the AUM match tied at seven assists with teammate Judah Jones and Wright, who reached that mark in 2013 and 2016. Brown's pass for Douglas's first goal gave him sole possession of the record, and he added another assist on the record-setting career goal in the closing minutes.

The freshman played all 90 minutes at AUM, where the Trojans held the Warhawks to two shots on goal. Trevecca allowed only five combined shots on target during the two matches.

Brown leads the GSC in total assists and assists per game and ranks sixth and eighth nationally in those categories, respectively. His nine assists are second in Trevecca's all-era season record book, behind Erick Oduor's 13 in 2003. Brown previously earned GSC Defender of the Week on Sept. 8.

HUNTER WALKER | GSC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

#1 | GK | 6-1 | SO | Franklin, Tenn. | Christ Presbyterian Academy | Tennessee Wesleyan University

Walker recorded two complete-match shutouts, making three saves against Spring Hill and one at AUM. He finished the week with four individual saves, a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage over 180 minutes.

His seventh shutout of the season tied Joe Shrum's 2002 all-era individual record and extended Walker's NCAA-era season mark. His 12 career clean sheets and 11 goalkeeper victories this season also extend Trevecca's all-era records.

Walker enters the regular-season finale with a 0.93 goals-against average, 59 saves and an .819 save percentage. He is tied for seventh nationally in shutouts and ranks 16th in save percentage. He has not conceded a goal in 327:14, dating to the Delta State match on Oct. 3. Walker also earned GSC Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 8.

NEXT FOR THE TROJANS

Trevecca (11-1-2, 6-1-2 GSC) hosts West Alabama (6-5-4, 4-2-3 GSC) at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Trevecca Soccer Complex in the regular-season finale. A victory would secure at least a share of the Trojans' first GSC regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Friday also brings together Division II's top two players in total goals and points. West Alabama's David Nunez leads the nation with 16 goals and 38 points; Douglas follows with 15 and 35 while holding the national lead in both per-game scoring categories.

The Trojans will host a GSC Championship quarterfinal Saturday, Oct. 31. The match time and opponent will be announced.
