CLINTON, Miss.— The Trevecca Nazarene Women's Basketball team (8-6, 5-4 GSC) bounced back in emphatic fashion on the road Thursday night, rolling past Mississippi College (5-10, 4-6 GSC) by an 81–56 margin to pick up their fifth Gulf South Conference victory.

The win gives Trevecca a 2–1 advantage in the all-time series against Mississippi College.
THE MATCH
Trevecca came out firing from the locker room, jumping out to a 23–9 lead after the first quarter as the Trojans knocked down five three-pointers and held Mississippi College to just 26.7 percent shooting from the floor.
The Choctaws struggled to find offense again in the second period, as Trevecca outscored them 16–6 to take a commanding 39–15 lead into halftime.
Mississippi College showed some fight in the third, but Trevecca answered every push with balanced scoring and steady ball movement and extended their lead to 29 points with one quarter left to go.
The Trojans closed the door in the fourth, slightly trimming the deficit but Trevecca still maintained full control to secure the 25-point road victory.
THE TEAM
Trevecca shot 50.9 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range while controlling the glass with 45 rebounds, a season best in conference play. The Trojans also forced 14 turnovers, turning them into 10 points, and generated 15 second-chance points while outscoring Mississippi College 38–24 in the paint.
THE PLAYERS
Cheyenne Trotter led the Trojans with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting while adding 11 rebounds, securing yet another double-double.
Tatum Shaw followed with 17 points, knocking down four three-pointers, and
Brianna Burgess contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
Jordan Gillies added eight points, five assists, and two steals, while Shinae Howard Johnson and
Natalia Hernandez each chipped in eight points off the bench.
