NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (1-1-0) earned its first win under head coach Mattheus Mello with a 1-0 victory over Young Harris College (1-1-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.
THE SERIES
This was just the second all-time meeting between the programs, and Trevecca improved to 2-0 in the series with the win.
THE MATCH
After a scoreless first half, the breakthrough came in the 65th minute when
Lainey Callis found the back of the net with a low-left finish to give the Trojans the lead. The goal proved to be the difference as Trevecca held on for the shutout.
Trevecca outshot Young Harris 18-8, including a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Trojans also earned six corners to Young Harris' three and maintained composure throughout the match, finishing without a single card.
Goalkeeper
Bailie Fiore posted a clean sheet, making three saves on the day.

Trevecca is back at home next Thursday, September 11, for a senior night showdown against Kentucky Wesleyan. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.
