LIVINGSTON, Ala. — Trevecca men's soccer (2-1-1, 0-1-0 GSC) suffered its first defeat of the season on Friday night, falling 5-1 to West Alabama (1-2-1, 1-0-0 GSC) in the Trojans' conference opener at UWA Soccer Field.
THE SERIES
The Trojans return home this Sunday to host Alabama Huntsville (3-0-1) at 4:30 PM at the Trojan Soccer Complex in Nashville.
THE MATCH
Trevecca responded quickly after West Alabama took the lead on a 17th-minute penalty kick, with
Chris Douglas equalizing less than a minute later.
Luke Tedder picked up the assist on Douglas' third goal of the season.
But the Tigers answered with two more first-half goals and never looked back. Harrison Page and Clement Baron extended UWA's lead to 3-1 before halftime. Gonzalo Rawinad and Luke Jovanovich added goals in the second half to secure the win for the hosts.
The Tigers fired off 23 total shots (10 on goal) compared to just five attempts from the Trojans.
