HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University Women's Basketball team (6-15, 3-12 GSC) fought hard but fell short against the University of Alabama Huntsville (17-4, 12-3 GSC), dropping a tightly contested matchup 75-69.

With this loss, Trevecca moves to 5-9 all-time against Alabama Huntsville in women's basketball.
BREAKING IT DOWN
Trevecca came out firing in one of their best offensive starts of the season, shooting a scorching 80% (8-10) from the field in the opening quarter, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
The hot shooting propelled the Trojans to a 21-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
However, Alabama Huntsville responded in the second quarter with an offensive surge of their own. The Chargers shot 60% from the field in the frame, outscoring the Trojans 28-14 to erase Trevecca's lead and take a 40-35 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter remained a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading baskets.
Trevecca tightened up defensively, holding UAH to just 12 points in the period, while their offense remained efficient, cutting the deficit and reclaiming a narrow 54-52 lead heading into the fourth.
The Trojans looked in control early in the final quarter, opening on a 7-0 run to stretch their lead to 61-52. However, Alabama Huntsville quickly answered, stringing together key defensive stops and knocking down shots in crucial moments.
Trevecca still held a lead with under five minutes to go, but UAH mounted a 14-0 run in the final stretch to turn the game around.
The Trojans suddenly found themselves down by six with 22 seconds remaining.
Amaya Thomas drilled a late three-pointer to bring Trevecca within four, but with only four seconds left on the clock, the Trojans were forced to foul.
UAH converted their free throws to put the game out of reach, sealing Trevecca's fate with a final score of 75-69.
THE PLAYERS
Amaya Thomas led the way for the Trojans with a game-high 21 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-11 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range.
Cheyenne Trotter added 13 points and six rebounds, while
Monique Emelifeonwu chipped in with eight points and a strong defensive presence.
THE TEAM
Trevecca shot 53.1% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc, showcasing one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season. However, Alabama Huntsville's ability to capitalize on second-chance opportunities (31 second-chance points) and their late-game execution proved to be the difference.
