SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The loss moves the all-time series to 1–2 in favor of the Tigers.

THE MATCH

West Alabama opened the game with a strong shooting performance, hitting 45.0 percent of its attempts in the first quarter to take a 22–16 lead after 10 minutes. Trevecca responded in the second period, holding UWA to 35.3 percent from the field and trimming the margin to 35–30 at halftime behind improved interior scoring and defensive pressure.

Both teams struggled to find rhythm in the third quarter, combining for just 10 made field goals across the entire period. Trevecca shot 5-for-17 in the frame while West Alabama went 5-for-14, and the Tigers maintained a 46–41 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

Trevecca made its strongest push in the fourth. Jordan Gillies sparked the late surge with a fastbreak layup at the 36-second mark, where she was fouled and was able to convert her free-throw to bring the Trojans within 62–59. Moments later, Gillies came up with a steal herself, for another Trojan possession with 29 seconds lefts where Jayda Woods was eventually fouled. Woods knocked down one of the two free throws to make it a 62–60 game with 24 seconds remaining.

Trevecca forced another stop but was unable to capitalize on the offensive end. A foul on the rebound sent UWA to the line, where Shay Hunter hit two free throws with 10 seconds left to extend the Tigers' lead to 64–60. The Trojans had two looks from beyond the arc in the final seconds — first from Tatum Shaw and then Gillies — but both attempts were off the mark as West Alabama held on for the four-point win.

THE TEAM

Trevecca shot 37.0 percent (27-for-73) from the field, 6.3 percent (1-for-16) from three, and 50.0 percent (5-for-10) at the line.
