NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Trevecca Nazarene women's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 GSC) dropped its first game of the season in a 75-69 overtime loss to former Great Midwest Athletic Conference rival Kentucky Wesleyan (2-1, 0-0 GMAC) on Tuesday noon for Education Day.

Kentucky Wesleyan is a former Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe. With Wednesday's result, the all-time series now stands at 20–8 in favor of Kentucky Wesleyan.
THE MATCH
Trevecca started quickly, using four first-quarter threes to build a 20–17 lead after 10 minutes. The Trojans kept their edge in the second frame, shooting 50.0 percent from the field to take a 37–35 advantage into halftime.
Kentucky Wesleyan swung the momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Trevecca 17–9 to move in front 52–46 heading into the fourth.
The Trojans answered in the final period, holding Kentucky Wesleyan to just two made field goals while scoring 15 points of their own to tie the game. Trevecca closed regulation with a 15–9 quarter to send the contest to overtime at 61–61.
In the extra period, Kentucky Wesleyan converted four of five field goal attempts and went 5-for-6 at the line, outscoring Trevecca 14–8 to secure the 75–69 final.

Trevecca scored 23 points off turnovers, 34 points in the paint, 18 second chance points, 14 fast-break points, and 12 points from the bench. Kentucky Wesleyan matched the Trojans with 34 points in the paint and added 9 second chance points, 18 fast-break points, and 3 points off the bench.
THE PLAYERS
Cheyenne Trotter posted a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 3-for-5 at the line, while adding 4 steals and 2 assists.
Tatum Shaw scored 12 points, going 4-for-17 from the floor and 2-for-12 from three, and added 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Brianna Burgess contributed 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, shooting 4-for-11 overall and 4-for-9 from beyond the arc.
Jordan Gillies filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in 38 minutes (5-for-14 FG, 1-for-8 3PT, 1-for-1 FT).
