Trevecca Women's Soccer | Trojans Beat Bucs; Host Lee Sunday for Season Finale

NASHVILLEThe Trevecca Nazarene women's soccer team (4-7-4, 2-5-4 GSC) returned home for their final two matches of the 2025 season, and on Friday afternoon, Trevecca welcomed the Buccaneers of Christian Brothers University (3-12-1, 1-10 GSC) to the Trojan Soccer Pitch. Trevecca used an early surge to snap a five-match winless skid with a 5-3 win.

THE SERIES
The win marked the second straight victory in the series for Trevecca, after CBU had won the preceding five matches. Since 2007, the Bucs lead the series 5-2.

THE MATCH
The Trojans needed just less than four minutes to break the ice in the match. Peyton Wilkinson netted her third goal of the season when she finished off a double-assist from Anny Mitra and Maria Luiza Rocha to give the Trojans the 1-0 lead.

In the 14th minute, Natalia Bowles found the top left corner of the goal for her first goal of the campaign. It, also, featured two assists, with Wilkinson and Katie Whiting picking up the helpers. CBU got on the board with a goal from Elisa Cruz in the 22nd minute, but the Trojans had their two-goal lead restored 1:52 later when the Bucs put the ball in their own net, and at the half, Trevecca led 3-1.

Trevecca pressured early in the second half, taking the first shot of the period just after the Trojans had been whistled for an offside, and after a second Trevecca shot led to a corner kick, Trevecca cashed in on the set piece. The ball came to Kate Riley just six seconds after the Trojans' corner, and she fired a shot into the top left of the goal, and the Trojans suddenly led 4-1, and they had equaled their highest offensive output of the season with still more than a half hour to play. In the 75th minute, Mitra tallied her second goal of the season, and though CBU did cash in a pair of tallies in the second half as well, the Trojans won the match 5-3. The win was their first since a 2-1 win at Spring Hill College.

Bailie Fiore (4-5-4) started and played the first 76 minutes in goal to earn the win before giving way to Mary Bauchou. Fiore allowed two goals and made two saves in the match, while Bauchou was in goal for the final CBU tally. Kaylee Allen (2-10-1) allowed four goals and made one save in the loss for the Buccaneers.

UP NEXT
Trevecca will wrap up the 2025 season on Sunday, when they welcome long-time foe Union University (4-6-3, 3-6-1 GSC) to Nashville at 2 p.m.
