GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team played their final fall tournament at the Newberry Invitational at the Harbor Club course. The course played to a par of 72 over 5,919 yards. The Trojans finished second (642=321-321) overall and Emma Almquist finished second (155=77-78) as an individual. Makenzie Norwood placed eighth (158=79-79).

Originally scheduled as a 54-hole event, the first round was thrown out due to the tee markers being incorrect on some of the holes in the first round.

Makenzie Norwood finished second in the field with a 4.35 average on the par four holes.

Emma Almquist finished first in the field with and even-par 5.00 average.

The team finished first on the par four holes and the par five holes with a 4.60 and 5.50 average respectively. The team finished with the second more birdies (13) and the most pars (85).

The Trojans finished in a tie for first after Monday's play. Mattie Goad shot a 76, placing third overall. Goad had three birdies, all three on the front nine, giving her a one-under-par 35 on the first nine.

Emma Almquist sat in fifth after Monday's opening round, just one stroke back of Goad with a 77.

Ava Neal had an eagle during Monday's opening round.

The field included eighteen (10) teams and 53 individual golfers.

The spring portion of the schedule resumes March 10-11-12, 2026 at the LTU Invitational in Opelika, Ala. at the RTJ Grand National – Lake Course.

The Greenwood Invitational is March 24-25 at the Greenwood (S.C.) Country Club. March 30-31 is the Columbia State Cougar Classic at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Ga. The Music City Classic, hosted by Cumberland University, is April 13-14 at the Hermitage Golf Course – General's Retreat in Old Hickory, Tenn.

The 2025 Gulf South Championships are April 20-21-22 – at the Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
