LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (6-14, 3-11 GSC) fell 57-43 to the University of West Alabama (3-15, 3-11 GSC).

With this win, the Tigers even the season and all-time series against the Trojans, avenging their earlier season loss (1-1).
BREAKING IT DOWN
The game started in favor of West Alabama, as the Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead before
Tatum Shaw finally got the Trojans on the board with a three-pointer midway through the first quarter. A jumper by
Amaya Thomas added to Trevecca's scoring, but those would be the only two made baskets in the opening period, resulting in a 13-5 deficit.
Trevecca responded in the second quarter, showing much better execution on both ends. The Trojans tightened up defensively while finding their rhythm on offense, cutting the deficit to just two points at halftime (23-21).
The third quarter saw a more fluid Trojan offense, but defensive struggles allowed West Alabama to maintain control. The Tigers outscored Trevecca 20-14 in the period, extending their lead to 43-35 heading into the final quarter.
Despite a competitive start to the fourth quarter, the game slipped away in the final four minutes. The Tigers completely shut down the Trojan offense, holding them scoreless down the stretch while finishing the game on an 8-0 run to secure the 57-43 victory.
THE PLAYERS
Tatum Shaw led the Trojans with 18 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from three-point range. She also recorded two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Cheyenne Trotter added 9 points and 7 rebounds while contributing 2 assists and 4 steals.
Brianna Burgess tallied 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, providing key contributions on both ends.
THE TEAM
Trevecca finished the game shooting 34.7% from the field (17-49) and 40% from three (6-15). However, they struggled at the free-throw line, converting just 3-of-7 attempts (42.9%). West Alabama dominated inside, outscoring the Trojans 40-20 in points in the paint. The Tigers also had the edge in second-chance points (10-6) and points off turnovers (20-16).
