MONTEVALLO, AL – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (2-3-3, 1-1-1 GSC) suffered their first Gulf South Conference loss of the season in a 3-0 defeat against the University of Montevallo (2-1-2, 1-0-0 GSC) on Friday night.
THE SERIES
This was the second meeting between the Trojans and Falcons, and with this result, Montevallo remains unbeaten in the series with two victories.
THE GAME
Coach Danny Leavy continued to show confidence in his squad, opting for the same starting eleven for the third consecutive game.
Montevallo opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Cristobal Porter found the back of the net, assisted by Hugo Cakurda.
The Falcons doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, with Cakurda himself scoring, assisted by Jens Krieger.
Montevallo sealed the victory in the 66th minute when Mark Shoebridge finished off a pass from Julius Rahmig to make it 3-0.
