NASHVILLE – The Gulf South Conference announced its men's soccer weekly award selections on Tuesday with
Adan Gonzalez collecting the Goalkeeper of the Week and
Chris Douglas earning his second Freshman of the Week honors.
Gonzalez earned his first Gulf South Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors by helping the Trojans keep a clean sheet in their first ever Gulf South match against the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
The senior made three saves in the win over UAH while patrolling the goalmouth all 90 minutes. The Nashville native also stood tall against the nation's No. 23 ranked squad when he allowed just one goal in the 1-1 draw versus the University of West Alabama helping the Trojans to a four-point week.
On the year, Gonzalez is tied for first in the league with two clean sheets as well as is fifth in both goals against average and saves made this season.
Douglas, the first Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week winner of the season, produced another two-goal week for the Trojans to earn this week's recognition. Douglas bagged a brace in Trevecca's first-ever Gulf South match, striking in each half to take down the University of Alabama-Huntsville, 2-0.
For the season, the freshman from St. Johns, Antigua has four goals which places him in a three-way tie for second-most in the league.
