HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (1-3-1) began their inaugural Gulf South Conference campaign with a 1-0 loss on the road to the University of Alabama (2-3-0) at Huntsville. This defeat ends a seven-season unbeaten streak for the Lady Trojans in conference openers.
THE SERIES
This match marked the third meeting between the Chargers and Trojans in women's soccer. With this victory, the Chargers now hold a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series.
THE GAME
For their first-ever GSC contest, Coach Harrell made two changes to the starting lineup from last week's loss to Carson-Newman, bringing in
Kylie Bradshaw and
Hailey Wilkinson.
Offensive opportunities were limited for the Trojans, who managed just two shots on goal throughout the game. The Chargers broke through Trevecca's defense when Sabrina Da Silva scored in the second half off an assist from Carley White, securing the 1-0 win for Huntsville.
