NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (1-2-0) fell 1-0 to Carson-Newman University (3-1-0) in their home opener on a rainy evening at the Trojan Soccer Complex. This year's Senior Day came unusually early, coinciding with the Trojans' first home game of the season, a non-conference contest against Carson-Newman.
The Trojans honored their seniors, including Layne Goodbread, Lainey Callis, Katelyn Keogh, Taylor Loftus, Peyton Wilkinson, Skye Baun, Allie Windom, Paige Long, Jamie Stark, Isabel Felger, and Brooke Fininis.
THE SERIES
This marked the sixth meeting between the Trojans and Eagles in women's soccer. Before tonight's match, both teams had recorded two wins and two draws in the series.
THE MATCH
Following Thursday's loss to Kentucky Wesleyan, Coach Nathan Harrell made several adjustments to the starting lineup, introducing
Paige Long,
Skye Baun,
Taylor Loftus, and
Katie Whiting.
Offensive chances were limited for the Trojans, while Carson-Newman applied consistent pressure, firing 14 total shots. The Eagles broke through in the 53rd minute of play when Selina Jud found the back of the net, securing the 1-0 victory.

The Trojans will now shift focus to their Gulf South Conference debut as they travel to face the University of Alabama Huntsville on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. They return home next Sunday to host the University of West Alabama at 2:00 p.m. in another conference matchup.
