CALERA, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team opened their season at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo on Monday. The Trojans posted a 314-317=631
Makenzie Norwood shot a one-under-par 70, which ties her for the second lowest round in school history. Only soon-to-be hall of famer Alexa Rippy Phillips shot a lower round in school history. Phillips shot a 69 at the Cumberland Phoenix Invitational during the 2016-17 season. Phillips also shot a 70 during the 2015-16 season at the Perry Park Spring Fling.
The 631over 36 holes is the fifth best in program history.
Norwood's 77-70=147 is the fourth best 36-hole total in school history. Only Alexa Rippy Phillips, who did it three times, has shot lower than a 147 over 36-holes.

TROJAN INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Sara Blake Coley
Coley added a birdie during Tuesday's round, giving her four on the invitational. Coley shot a career-best 76 on Monday and recorded a one-over-par on the back nine with the help of two of her three birdies. Coley birdied her first two holes on the back nine.
Makenzie Norwood
Norwood collected four birdies and an eagle during the 36-hole tournament. She shot three-under on the back nine.
On Monday, Norwood birdied hole number two and shot two-over on the front nine.
Madison Hull
On Monday, Hull birdied No. 11 and shot one over on the back nine.
Audrey Reese
Reese birdied three holes, two on Monday.
Macie McFarlin
McFarlin grabbed one birdie on the par five No. 11 on Monday.
TROJAN TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
The team collected five birdies and an eagle on Tuesday, giving them 13 birdies during the Blue Moon BBQ Invitational. The team collected eight birdies during Monday's first round. The 314 Monday would have been their third best round last year.
UP NEXT
The women's team heads a different direction than the men, next teeing it up Sept. 16-17 at the NCAA DII South Region Preview hosted by Lee University at the Cleveland Country Club.
On Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the team plays in the Upstate Intercollegiate in Greer, S.C. at the Greer Country Club.
The fall slate ends at the St. Simons Intercollegiate on the King and Prince Course on St. Simons Island, Ga.
