CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (16-11, 9-3 Great Midwest) dropped a mid-week non-conference game at Lee University (26-9), 14-4, at Larry Carpenter Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Lee and Trevecca are former conference foes from their NAIA days and will soon be conference foes again as the Trojans join the Gulf South next season. Lee is coached by former Trojan pitcher and assistant coach, Mark Brew.
Lee leads the all-time series 39-13 – dating back to 1997, but the Trojans have won two of the last three including last year's 17-4 win at Jackson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED –
Trevecca took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the second inning when Cole McCallum led off with a double. McCallum moved to their on a ground out, but scored when Josh Griffin singled a batter later.

The Flames heated up in their half of the third with three runs, but Trevecca evened the game at 3-3 with a two-run top of the fourth. McCallum started the inning with a walk. Two batters and two outs later David Milam singled, moving McCallum to third. Carter Warner followed with a single that scored McCallum. Andru Becker doubled scoring Milam. Lee regained the lead with a two-run fourth, leading 5-3.

Trevecca made it 5-4 with a run in the sixth when Josh Griffin and David Milam hit back-to-back doubles. But the Trojan bats went silent the rest of the way and the Flames turned up the heat, scoring nine unanswered including seven in the seventh to force the run-rule into play.
