CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (26-17, 18-8 Great Midwest) began the weekend series with Thomas More University (13-33, 6-24 Great Midwest) with a sweep of the Saints at Thomas More Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Saints and Trojans have never met before in baseball.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
Trevecca got on the board first with an RBI double from Joey Parliment in the first and did not look back.
Haven Mangrum scored on a balk in the third to double the Trojan lead before the Saints connected for an RBI single to make it a 2-1 game. Mangrum homered in the fifth to get the run back and the Trojans added two more in the sixth. After a Thomas More home run in the bottom of the sixth, the Trojans received two-run long balls from
Abbott Lawrence in the seventh, and Parliment in the eighth to help build a 10-2 lead. The Saints scored for the final time in the eighth, while Trevecca poured on four more runs in the ninth off a Parliment grand slam to cap the game off, 14-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME ONE
* Andru Becker was 4-5 with a walk and four runs scored.
* Caleb Marks (6-0) started and picked up the win by striking out 11 and allowing just two runs over eight hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Scoring was more spread out in game two with the hosts picking up the first run of the game off an RBI triple in the second. Trevecca did not respond until the fourth when Cole McCallum homered to tie the game. An RBI single in the fifth gave the Saints back the lead before a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Abbott Lawrence once again tied it up. Both sides added three runs in the eighth, the Trojans more creatively, though.
Andru Becker scored on a wild pitch,
Cooper Whitt off a sacrifice fly and McCallum off a double. The Saints used the long ball to tie the game at 5-5. In the top of the ninth, an RBI single brought in the game winning run for the Trojans, 6-5.
* Jack Keele started and went seven innings, striking out one in the no-decision.
* Braden Reece (1-0) pitched two innings of relief for the win.

The Trojans and Saints finish up the four-game series tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
