NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (23-17, 16-8 Great Midwest) finished up its four-game series by splitting games Cedarville University (10-29, 6-16 Great Midwest) on Senior Day at Jackson Field on Saturday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Yellowjackets and Trojans are founding members of the Great Midwest and have the longest head-to-head series. The Trojans lead the series 43-8. Both teams are founding members of the conference and played for the first Great Midwest Championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
Cedarville scored the first three runs of the afternoon all off the bat of the first baseman Boston Torres. Torres hit a two-run homer in the first and added a sacrifice fly to right field in the second. The Trojans answered back with a run in the bottom half of the second when an error allowed
Josh Griffin to reach base and
David Milam to score. A sacrifice fly in the third made it a 3-2 game as
Andru Becker was brought in by
Cole McCallum. The Yellow Jackets added four runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to make it an 8-2 ballgame. The Trojans rallied for a four run fifth inning but came up short falling 8-6.

* Andru Becker was 2-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
* Logan Harrell (3-3) started and took the loss going just 0.1 innings allowing two runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
A pitcher's duel was the story for game two for the first part of the game. Both sides needed five innings to settle into their offense. Cedarville scored three runs in the top of the fifth before the Trojans responded with an eight spot. Three singles brought in two runs a piece, a sacrifice fly and an RBI double to left center field gave Trevecca the 8-3 lead. The Trojans added three more in the bottom of the sixth off a run scoring hit-by-pitch and a two-run double off the bat of
Joey Parliment to left field. Cedarville got two runs back in the ninth, but it was not enough as Trevecca took game two, 11-5.

* Andru Becker was 3-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
* Joey Parliment went 3-5 with four RBIs, and two runs scored.
* Jack Keele (5-2) started and went six innings, striking out six and allowing three runs over eight hits.
