NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (22-16, 15-7 Great Midwest) swept a pair of Great Midwest conference games with Cedarville University (9-28, 5-15 Great Midwest), 7-1 / 3-0, at Jackson Field.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Trevecca increased its advantage in the series with the Yellowjackets to 42-7, it is the longest head-to-head series for the Trojans in their Great Midwest history. Both teams are founding members of the conference and played for the first Great Midwest Championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GM 1
Cedarville jumped on top with a run in the top of the first for a 1-0 lead against Trevecca starter
Spencer Wilkins. The Trojan scored seven unanswered starting with a run in the bottom of the first and the go ahead and winning run in the bottom of the first. The Trojans put some distance between themselves and the Yellowjackets with a four-run third. TNU tacked on their final run in the eighth.
Joey Parliment pushed across the first run for the Trojans with a double in the bottom of the first that scored
Andru Becker. Becker put the Trojans up for good with his own double in the second that scored
Carter Warner. In the four-run third the scoring started with an RBI-double that scored
Haven Mangrum.
Abbott Lawrence hit a two-run homer that scored McCallum.
Roland Ryan rounded out the scoring in the third with an RBI-double that scored
David Milam.
Carter Warner jumped in RBI-double parade with his own in the eighth, scoring
Alex Fernandez who was running for
Roland Ryan.

The Trojans had five RBI-doubles in the game.
Abbott Lawrence moved into second on the team with his eighth homer of the year.
Joey Parliment, Cole McCallum, and Alex Fernandez all added stolen base to their totals on the year.
Spencer Wilkins (5-2) went eight innings for the win and allowed just one run on five hits and three walks. He sat down eight Yellowjacket batters on strikes.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GM 2
Aden Napier started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the second inning that was deep enough to score
Cole McCallum. That proved to be the game winner. Trevecca added a pair of runs in fifth to lock down the win.
Haven Mangrum doubled to score
Andru Becker. Then a wild pitch allowed
Joey Parliment to score the games final run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE - GM 2
Caleb Marks (5-0) went the distance for the third time this season and picked up his first shutout of the year, lowering his earned run average to 2.12. Marks allowed four hits and no walks while striking out nine.
Andru Becker went 2-3 in the game and combined to go 4-8 in the double header.

Trevecca hosts Cedarville University (9-28, 5-15 Great Midwest) on Saturday, April 20 at Jackson Field at Noon. It's Senior Day and a ceremony honoring the seniors takes place following the second game of the doubleheader.
The Yellowjackets and Trojans are founding members of the Great Midwest and have the longest head-to-head series. The Trojans lead the series 42-7.
Trevecca visits Carson-Newman University (22-19) Tuesday, April 23 at 3 PM in Jefferson City, TN. The Eagles lead the all-time series, during the NCAA Division II era, 4-2.
Their final two Great Midwest series are on the road at Thomas More University and Ohio Dominican University.
The Thomas More (11-28, 4-20 Great Midwest) series is April 26-27 in Florence, Ky. This is the first meeting between the Trojans and Saints. The Saints are in their first season in the Great Midwest.
The final series is May 2-3 at Ohio Dominican (20-16, 11-9 Great Midwest) in Columbus, Ohio. Trevecca leads the all-time series 15-5, but ODU has won the last two games in the series.
