Trevecca Women’s Basketball | Lili Wilken Record Fuels Trojans 106-point Explosion at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (17-8, 13-5 G-MAC) got back in the win column with a beat down of conference rivals Cedarville University (5-20, 3-15 G-MAC), 106-66, on Saturday afternoon in the Callan Athletic Center.

Lili Wiken set an NCAA Division II era record for made three-pointers in a game and tied the all-time (NCAA/NAIA) record. Wilken hit eight (8) three pointers in the game, the most by any player in the NCAA Division II era, one better than her sister, Faith, and Haley Felker, who both hit seven three-pointers in a game. Faith hit her then record tying seven three pointers against Lake Erie earlier this year, also a game in which the Trojans topped the century mark. Faith Wilken hit 7-of-10 from three point range. The eight made three pointers matches the eight hit in a game by Casey Van Atta against Shorter in the 2008-2009 season. Lili Wilken went 8-for-12 from three-point range against Cedarville.     
   
Trevecca swept the season series with Cedarville after having beaten the Yellow Jackets 80-53 on February 8. The Trojans won last season's only meeting to stop the Yellow Jackets' 14 game-winning streak in the series. Cedarville leads 17-6 all-time since 2013.  
 
The Trojans scored 100+ points for the twelfth time since joining the NCAA ranks and third time this season. The most recent 100-point contest came against Ohio Dominican on 2-3-2024. Trevecca scored an NCAA-era record 109 points in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons against Salem International and Alderson-Broaddus, respectively. 
   
BREAKING IT DOWN   
Lili Wilken got the scoring rolling with a 3-pointer and the Trojans did not look back. Trevecca allowed a free-throw but that was all in the opening five minutes to lead 16-1. Both sides played nearly even in the final five minutes of the quarter as Trevecca led 29-10. 
 
The Trojans exploded for a season-high 33 points in the second quarter behind a game-best six made 3-pointers. Trevecca enjoyed a 40-point lead at halftime, 62-22. 
 
The third quarter was the only frame the Trojans did not win as Cedarville outscored the visitors by four, 27-23. Trevecca led 85-49 heading into the fourth quarter. 
 
Kor Fornesa Liu collected six of her 20 points in the fourth quarter as Trevecca rolled to the 106-66 win on the road. 
 
KEY PLAYERS   
Three Trojans produced 20 points or more. Lili Wilken had a team-high 26 points on 8-11 shooting from 3-point range. Keeley Carter finished with 25 points, five rebounds and six assists. Kor Fornesa Liu missed just one shot all day, with 20 points on 10-11 shooting with four rebounds. 
 
TEAM TIME   
Trevecca shot 62.5% from the field and 16-28 (57.1%) from deep. The Trojans shot 10-15 (66.7%) at the free-throw line. Trevecca out rebounded by Cedarville 41-25 and had 17 more assists, 27-10. The Trojans collected 10 steals, more than the Yellow Jacket's six while both sides rejected two shots.  
   
UP NEXT   
The Trojans take on conference newcomer Thomas More University (15-10, 11-7 G-MAC) on Thursday, February 29 at 4:30 p.m.   
   
Trevecca beat TMU 84-70 earlier this season in the first ever meeting in women's basketball.
