MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-8-3, 4-5-2 GSC) closed out their regular season with a 2-0 defeat against Christian Brothers University (10-3-3, 7-1-3 GSC) on Sunday afternoon. The Trojans head into the Gulf South Conference playoffs as the sixth seed and will face the third seed, Auburn University at Montgomery, on November 9. The Trojans previously fell to AUM 2-0 in their regular-season matchup on September 29.
THE SERIES
This marks the third meeting between Trevecca and Christian Brothers, with CBU claiming all three victories in the series.
THE GAME
The first half saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, ending scoreless. However, Christian Brothers broke the deadlock early in the second half when Alexander Blanche found the back of the net in the 48th minute. Shortly after, in the 56th minute, Daiki Ebihara doubled CBU's lead off an assist from George Chandler, securing the final 2-0 scoreline.
The Trojans managed nine shots, three on target, while the Bucs put pressure on Trevecca with 17 shots, eight on target. Despite Trevecca's efforts, CBU's defense held firm, and goalkeeper Connor Vincent recorded the shutout with three saves.

Trevecca will prepare for their GSC playoff matchup, traveling to Auburn University at Montgomery (9-2-5, 7-2-2 GSC) for the quarterfinals on November 9. The Trojans will aim to avenge their regular-season loss and make a deep postseason run in their inaugural Gulf South Conference season.
