NOTE: The very first Gulf South Conference basketball game brings the Alabama Huntsville Chargers to Trojan Fieldhouse. The Chargers have a couple of familiar faces. First year head coach Allen Sharpe is the son of former Trevecca athletic director, the late Gary Sharpe. The elder was also a highly successful basketball coach, most notably with the University of Arkansas Monticello. Allen Sharpe is also familiar to Trojan fans as he played his college basketball for the legendary Lipscomb University head coach Don Meyer.

NOTE: The ties between Trevecca and Alabama Huntsville are numerous. Trojan head coach Kevin Carroll was an assistant for legendary Charger head coach Lennie Acuff for a few years. The Chargers have a new coach, Belmont Hall of Famer Mick Hedgepeth. The first-year coach came to UAH from Berry College, the alma mater of Trevecca's Kevin Carroll. Current Trojan Drew Blackston grew up playing his prep basketball for his father in Huntsville. But, that takes a back seat to the Chargers bringing their talented roster to Trojan Fieldhouse as the first Gulf South Conference foe in program history. UAH is receiving votes for the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Top 25 and are the preseason favorite to win the Gulf South Championship.
