NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University (3-1) men's basketball team hosted Shorter University (1-1) and secured an 84-72 victory.

With this win, Trevecca improves to 6-3 in the all-time series against Shorter University in men's basketball.
BREAKING IT DOWN
Jalen Page set the tone early, opening the scoring and signaling an aggressive offensive night.
Despite this, Shorter responded with a 10-0 run to take an early 10-3 lead five minutes into the game.
Trevecca battled back, relying on Page's offensive production. The Trojans closed the half on an 18-6 run, highlighted by 20 first-half points from Page, giving them a 38-32 lead at the break.
In the second half, Shorter showed resilience but was kept at bay by Trevecca.
Jikari Johnson poured in eight consecutive points to maintain the Trojans' cushion.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the half, but Trevecca's solid lead proved insurmountable, culminating in an 84-72 victory.
THE PLAYERS
Jalen Page led all scorers with 26 points on 8-16 shooting, including 2-5 from three. He added six rebounds and two assists.
Jikari Johnson added 20 points, including a perfect 3-3 from the line, 3-8 from beyond the arc, and three rebounds.
Spencer White provided a spark off the bench with 12 points, including four three-pointers.
Mateo Esmeraldo dished out 10 assists while
NaVuan Peterson chipped in 11 points.
THE TEAM
Trevecca outperformed Shorter in key areas, shooting 53.2% from the field and 43.5% from beyond the arc. They dominated the boards with a 37-26 rebounding advantage and capitalized on fast-break opportunities, scoring 22 points on the break. Trevecca also converted 85.7% of their free throws.
