MIDWAY, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (3-6-2, 2-3-1 GSC) suffered a cruel 1-0 loss to Midway University (4-7-0) on Wednesday afternoon, despite dominating the match with 22 shots compared to Midway's 8.
THE SERIES
This marked the first-ever meeting between Trevecca Nazarene and Midway University in men's soccer.
THE GAME
The Trojans were in control for much of the match, outshooting Midway 22-8, including 11 shots on target. However, Midway's goalkeeper, Connor Vincent, was in top form, making 11 saves to keep Trevecca from finding the back of the net.
Trevecca had multiple chances but couldn't capitalize, and the game remained scoreless until the 83rd minute, when Midway's Jared Bastin, assisted by Andy Alfaro, broke the deadlock to give the Eagles the lead.
Goalkeeper
John Jeffus made three saves for the Trojans, but it wasn't enough to prevent the narrow defeat.
