NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (2-3-2, 1-1-2 GSC) secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against the University of West Florida (5-1-2, 3-0-1 GSC), thanks to a last-minute header that earned the Trojans an important point in Gulf South Conference play.
THE SERIES
This was the second meeting between the Trojans and Argonauts in women's soccer. West Florida won the previous encounter 2-0 back in 2019.
THE GAME
After a tight battle, West Florida broke the deadlock in the 80th minute when Emilie Dueck Doerksen scored with a high-center shot to put the Argonauts ahead 1-0.
However, Trevecca kept pushing, and in the 90th minute,
Skye Baun came through with a header for her fourth goal in the season, already matching her best scoring season, assisted by
Isabel Felger, to level the match at 1-1 and secure the draw for the Trojans.
