NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (3-7-3, 2-5-3 GSC) dropped a tightly contested match against Delta State University (4-4-5, 3-3-4 GSC), 1-0, on Sunday at the Trojan Soccer Complex. Despite an aggressive second-half push, the Trojans were unable to find an equalizer, and Delta State held on to secure the win.
THE GAME
Delta State scored the game's only goal in the 16th minute, as Kennedi Turner capitalized on an opportunity to give the Lady Statesmen a 1-0 lead. The Trojans fought back but struggled to convert their chances in the first half, heading into halftime with three shots compared to Delta State's seven.
In the second half, Trevecca stepped up their attack, registering 11 shots and pressuring Delta State's defense. However, the Lady Statesmen's goalkeeper made crucial saves, keeping the Trojans off the scoresheet. Trevecca's defense also held firm, limiting Delta State to just four shots in the second half.

The Trojans hit the road next week to close out their Gulf South Conference regular season play, facing limited opportunities for postseason advancement. Trevecca will take on Union University (7-4-2, 6-2-2 GSC) on Friday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a matchup against Christian Brothers University (0-14, 0-10 GSC) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
