NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (3-6-3, 2-4-3 GSC) secured an important 1-0 victory over Mississippi College (7-3-3, 3-3-3 GSC) on Friday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
THE SERIES
This was the first meeting between Trevecca and Mississippi College in women's soccer.
THE GAME
Trevecca took the lead in the 36th minute when
Anna Farrell found the back of the net off an assist from
Kayelee Maners, putting the Trojans up 1-0.
The Trojans played solid defense throughout the match, with goalkeeper
Bailie Fiore making seven saves to preserve the her second shutout of the season — fifth in her career. Mississippi College applied pressure in the second half, recording 12 shots, but Trevecca's defense held firm, limiting the Choctaws to seven shots on target for the game.
