The Blazers knocked off the Trojans in three sets, winning, 25-17, 27-25, 25-22.

THE SERIES
Trevecca and VSU met for the first time in volleyball.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite earning the first two points, the Trojans played from behind for the rest of the opening set. In fact, the Blazers held at least a three-point advantage throughout after earning a point off a kill at 10-6. Valdosta took five of the final seven points to take the first set, 25-17.

Trevecca bounced back early in the second, taking a 4-1 early lead before playing to a 7-7 tie. Valdosta pushed ahead with four straight points and then led by six at 14-8. Trevecca countered with a 5-1 run of its own and later tied the set at 22-22. As part of a 4-0 run, the Trojans held set point, but Valdosta rattled off two points to extend it. The visitors went on to win the second, 27-25.

The third set began similar to the second with an early Trevecca lead. The Trojans opened their largest lead of the night at 14-6 behind a pair of service aces on the 5-0 run. Trevecca's third set lead held up for most of the set with the Blazers slowly chipping away at it. The Trojans last point of the night came off a VSU attack error and the visitors took the final four points of the set to win 25-22.
