NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (2-4-3, 1-2-3 GSC) played to a 1-1 draw against Lee University (3-3-4, 3-1-2 GSC) on Friday at the Trojan Soccer Complex. The Trojans held the lead for much of the match but conceded an equalizer in the second half to split the points.
THE SERIES
This marks the third meeting between the Flames and the Trojans in women's soccer. Lee had won both previous encounters.
THE GAME
Trevecca opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Anny Mitra finished a low-left shot, assisted by Maria Luiza Rocha and Katelyn Keogh, to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Lee University responded in the second half, equalizing in the 57th minute when Jordan Blair fired a low-right shot, assisted by Katie Wilson, to make it 1-1. Both teams battled hard, but the score remained level at the final whistle.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will continue Gulf South Conference play next Thursday as they face Valdosta State (3-5-1, 0-3-1 GSC) at 12:00 p.m.
