NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (10-7, 6-4 G-MAC) defeated Lake Erie College (1-15, 0-11 G-MAC), 104-51, on Saturday afternoon in Trojan Fieldhouse.
Trevecca improved to 9-2 all-time versus Lake Erie series having now swept the season series. The Trojans were victorious 91-45 over the Storm on 12-9-23.
The Trojans scored 100+ points for just the ninth time since joining the NCAA ranks. The most recent 100-point contest came against former Great Midwest opponent Davis & Elkins on 2-20-2016. The Trojans used double overtime to reach the century mark making today's 104 points in regulation even more impressive.
The team reached a season-high for a game in several categories. They had the most made field goals (40), rebounds (55), and most points. They also tied a season-high in made three-pointers (11) and steals (13) in a game. They had the second most assists (20).
BREAKING IT DOWN
From the opening jump, Trevecca's offensive prowess was on display. The Trojans poured in the first five points of the game and held a 7-5 lead with 6:58 to play in the first quarter. From there, a 14-0 run sparked by four different Trojans, pushed the advantage to 21-5 and kept the game out of reach the rest of the way. Trevecca's 32 points scored is a season-high surpassing the 31-point third quarter effort also against Lake Erie earlier this season.
Trevecca managed a 19-point second quarter performance sparked by Faith Wilken's free-throws to open the frame and a 3-pointer by the senior to close out the scoring in the half. The 51-26 lead saw the Trojans into the locker room. The 25-point advantage nearly matched the 26-point lead held by the home side when Hillsdale visited Nashville on January 11 which is the season-high.
A strong reliance on the 3-point game ballooned the scoring in the third quarter for Trevecca. Three different Trojans made three 3-pointers as the hosts led 81-39 heading into the fourth.
With 1:26 to play, Braley Bushman's layup saw the scoreboard hit 100 as Trevecca scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to win 104-51.
KEY PLAYERS
Faith Wilken scored 24 points on 8-13 shooting with six made 3-pointers. Wilken finished off her outing with 13 rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
Keeley Carter added 17 points and seven rebounds while
Amaya Thomas also collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
TEAM TIME
Trevecca shot 53.3% from the field and was an impressive 58.8% from 3-point range. The Trojans missed just two foul shots to complete an 83.3% clip at the free-throw line. Trevecca grabbed more than double the rebounds than the Storm, 46-21 and produced 18 assists and 10 steals.

The Trojans travel to Findlay, Ohio to take on the University of Findlay (9-10, 5-6 G-MAC) on Thursday, February 1 at 5:30 pm. The Trojans defeated the Oilers 77-68 to open conference play on November 28 and have won the previous three meetings against UF.
