Trevecca Men's Soccer | Trojans Secure First Win of the Season vs. Shorter

Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (1-1-0) had their first win, 4-0, of the season against Shorter University (0-2-0).

The Trojans scored the first goal of the game, Marlon Grossmann scored assisted by Michael Martey at 01:39 in the first half of the game.

The Trojans not letting up, Ben Sieber scored the second goal for the Trojans, assisted by Marlon Grossmann at 3:24.

Marlon Grossmann scored again for the Trojans at 10:44, assisted by Ben Sieber. This is now Grossmann's third goal of the season. With the two goals and assist, Grossmann had a five point match.

The Trojans gave the Hawks a hard time defensively. Giuliano Palma had two first half saves and one second half save for the Trojans defense. Trevecca led 3-0 at the intermission.

The Hawks gave the Trojans a hard time defensively starting off in the second half of the game but that didn't stop the Trojans.

The Trojans first score of the second half, Heeseung Yoo scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Sam Barrionuevo at 79:51.The first sweep of the season for the Trojans resulted in the final score of the game 4-0.

The Trojans return to action Wednesday, September 6 (7 PM) against another Gulf South foe in Union University (1-0-1).

The Trojans and Bulldogs have played four times previously in the NCAA D2 era, the Bulldogs lead the series 3-1-0. The Trojans and Bulldogs tied 1-1 in a match in 2018.
