ASHLAND,Ohio- The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (13-17, 9-9 Great Midwest) won on the road at Ashland University (21-8, 14-3 Great Midwest) Charles Kates gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.   
 
The Trojans won in five, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14.
 
It was Trevecca's second match against Ashland University, where they were defeated at home on September 15th, 2-3. Ashland is currently leading in first place on the South Division. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set was close throughout, neither team gained more than a three-point advantage at any time in the set.  The Eagles seemed to have the edge late in the set, grabbing a couple of two-point advantages. After the Trojans had one bad set that gave the Eagles another two-point advantage, 22-24. The Eagles sealed the win with a kill. There were 10 ties and four lead changes.
 
In second set the Trojans had the lead the entire time. The Eagles fought their way back from the Trojans seven-point advantage, (17-10). Ashland tied it 24-24 with a 14-7 run.The Trojans sealed the win with a block by Mackenzie O'Loughlin and Mackenzie Martin, and an attack error on the Eagles.
 
The third was the same as the second with the Trojans leading the entire match. They sealed the win 25-22, pushing a fourth set. 

The Eagles scored the first point of a set and both teams took turns leading the set. The Eagles held off any Trojan run for a 25-23 win, pushing the match to five sets.
 
The final set was tied 2-2 and both teams kept each other at a two-point advantage for the entire set. With the set tied 14-14, the Trojans won the fifth set on a kill by Emma Titus and Mackenzie O' Loughlin, giving them match victory.

TEAM REPORT
Trevecca hit .214 for the match and hit .333 in the fifth. Ashland hit .160 for the match and .188 in the first. 
 
TROJAN PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
Emma Titus led the Trojans with 19 kills and added 15 digs for a double-double. Maddie Wilds also had a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs.

TNU returns on the Hill for their last conference game of the season. The Trojans will compete against Kentucky Wesleyan College (6-22, 4-13 Great Midwest), on Saturday (11/11) at 1 PM. CST.
