NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (12-15, 8-7 Great Midwest) lost in three, 3-0, to Hillsdale College (19-5, 12-2 Great Midwest) on Saturday at Trojan Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With the first set tied 2-2 Hillsdale began to pull away. First, leading 7-4, then slowly built a 17-10 advantage. Each Trevecca run was countered and the Chargers won 25-15.
 
The second set was a different story. The teams swapped leads or were through the midway point of the set. Tied 13-13, Hillsdale appeared to put the set away with a 8-1 run and a 21-14 lead. Trevecca answered though and first cut the lead to three at 21-18 with a 4-0 run. With HC leading 23-18, Trevecca used 6-1 run to tie the match at 24-24, but Hillsdale got the side out then the win in extra points 26-24.
 
In the third, the match was close throughout the early portion, but Hillsdale maintained a modest lead most of the way. The Chargers led 12-9 when the Trojans used a 6-2 run to take a 15-14 lead. The Trojans built a 19-16 lead, but the Chargers turned the game in their favor again with a 5-1 run and a 21-20 advantage. Trevecca tied it at 21-21, but Hillsdale got the side out and outscored the Trojans 4-1 to the finish.

TEAM REPORT
Hillsdale hit .183 for the match with only four service aces but had a .954 reception percentage. Trevecca .036 for the match with their best set coming in the third when they hit .160.

UP NEXT
The Trojans hit the road for three matches this week, then return for senior day on Nov. 11 versus Kentucky Wesleyan College.  Trevecca visits Cedarville on Thursday (11/2) at 6 PM, Ohio Dominican on Friday (11/3) at 5 PM, and end the road trip at Ashland on Saturday (11/4) at 4 PM. Senior Day is Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:00 PM.
