NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-9-2, 4-7-2 Great Midwest) earned a draw against Thomas More University (8-7-2, 6-5-2 Great Midwest), 0-0, at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
THE SERIES
The Trojans and Saints played for the first time as Thomas More is new to NCAA Division II play and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this season.
THE MATCH
The match was scoreless at the halftime break. The Saints pressured Trevecca as they took five shots in the first half. However, Trojan goalkeeper Giuliano Palma denied two of the Saints four shots on goal. The Trojans tallied four shots and two shots on goal. They also had a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Saints kept shooting in the second half, but they kept missing the net as four of their six shots of the second half missed the net. Giuliano Palma had a total of four saves for Trevecca, while Emilio Benmergui Rodriquez had a total of two saves for Thomas More. Both teams tied 5-5 in corner kick attempts.
For the rest of the game, both team's defense kept their opponent's offense in check, and the offense got in a few shots as neither team could solve the other's goalkeeper for a 0-0 draw.

The Trojans return on the Hill for a matchup against Kentucky Wesleyan College (7-4-6, 4-4-5 Great Midwest) for Senior Night. Kick-off is set for Tuesday, October 31st at 4:30 p.m.
