NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (12-14, 8-6 Great Midwest) lost in four, 4-1, to Northwood University (14-10, 9-5 Great Midwest) on Friday at Trojan Fieldhouse.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca opened the match with a 8-1 run, but Northwood rallied with a 14-6 to go ahead 15-13. Trevecca punched back with a 6-1 run and a 19-16 edge. The Timberwolves had another run in them, this time 6-2, tying the match 21-21. Trevecca got the side out and

Trevecca led a close set two 9-8, but Northwood turned the table with an 11-3 run for a 19-11 lead. The Trojans would not recover, falling 25-16, leveling the match at 1-1.

Trevecca led set three 5-4 when Northwood went on a 16-8 run to earn a 19-13 edge. The visitors held off the Trojans rally attempts for two sets to one advantage.

Trevecca built an 11-5 lead in a must-win set four, but Northwood used an 11-3 run to gain a 16-13 lead. The lead swelled to five (21-16) and the Trojans closed it to two (21-19) before the visitors closed the set and the match with a final 4-0 run.
TEAM REPORT
Trevecca hit .276 in the first set but were not able to hit above .097 the final three sets in the loss. Northwood hit .056 in the first, but hit at least .158 the rest of the way including hitting .500 in the third. Â Trevecca hit .069 for the match and Northwood hit .201. Â Â

TROJAN PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
Emma Titus led the team with nine kills with nine digs and two service aces.
Emilee McDonald had a double-double with 22 assists and 12 digs.
Mackenzie O'Loughlin had seven kills.
UP NEXT
Next, the Trojans return home for a meeting with Hillsdale College (19-4, 11-1 Great Midwest), the Chargers visit on Saturday, October 28 (1 PM).
