Trevecca Volleyball | Trojans Stop Arrows; at Lake Erie Saturday

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (11-13, 7-5 Great Midwest) won a Great Midwest game on the road at Ursuline College (1-21, 1-9), 3-1, in the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center.
 
The Trojans are alone in second place in the Great Midwest South Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca pulled ahead 7-2 and then held a 13-5 lead. The Arrows rallied to make it 13-9, but Trevecca closed out the set with a 12-1 run. In fact, Trevecca scored the last ten points including the final nine on the serve of Maddie Wilds. Wilds had three service aces in the run.
 
The second set was closer, but Trevecca never trailed after scoring the opening two points.
 
Ursuline scored the first four points of the third set, claiming their first lead in the match. The Arrows never relinquished the lead and pushed the match to a fourth set.  
 
The fourth set was close throughout. There were seven ties and five lead changes. The first time either team established a margin of more than three points came late when the Trojans pulled ahead 20-16. The Arrows could get no closer than two the rest of the way.

TEAM REPORT
The Trojans hit .417 in the first set and .280 in the second and hit .198 for the game. The Arrows hit .270 in the third, but .084 for the match. The Trojans had nine service aces with Mackenzie O'Loughlin and Maddie Wilds each collecting four each.  
 
TROJAN PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
Emilee McDonald turned in another double-double with 19 assists and 14 digs. She added five kills. O'Loughlin had nine kills and hit .727 with a couple of block assists. Emma Titus had 14 kills with nine digs. Katie Crutchfield led the team again with 15 digs.  

UP NEXT
Trevecca faces Lake Erie College (3-19, 2-9 Great Midwest) in Painesville, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 21.
 
The next home game is Friday, Oct. 27 when Northwood University (13-8, 8-3 Great Midwest) comes to play at the Fieldhouse. Hillsdale College (17-4, 9-1 Great Midwest) visits on Saturday, October 28.
