HAMMOND, Ind. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (10-13, 6-5 Great Midwest) beat Upper Iowa (8-11), 3-1, in the final Midwest Crossover.
 
Emilee McDonald had a triple double with 10 kills, 39 assists, two service aces, and 13 digs.
 
The Crossover is hosted again this year at the Hammond Sportsplex.
  
HOW IT HAPPENED
With the Peacocks leading 5-4, the Trojans scored seven (7) straight including six consecutive on the serve of Mackenzie O'Loughlin had five consecutive services aces in the run that elevated TNU to a 11-5 lead, a lead the Trojans would not relinquish on their way to a first set win.
 
TNU started set two with a 6-1 lead and held off a few runs by the Peacocks to take the second set and earn a 2-0 lead in the match.
 
TNU started the third in similar fashion with a 10-6 lead, but Upper Iowa rallied to tighten the match and eventually pulled ahead 18-15 and maintained a slim margin the rest of the way to send the match to a fourth set.
 
In the fourth Trevecca jumped out to a 7-2 lead. The Trojans continued to build on their lead to 20-12 late and finished off the Peacocks 25-16.

TEAM REPORT
Trevecca hit .265 with 12 service aces and seven blocks. The Peacocks hit .196.  
 
TROJAN PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
Emma Titus had 20 kills with an ace and nine digs. Titus had 20 more kills in all three matches at the Midwest Crossover. Cara Maguire had 11 kills with five assists and eight digs. Maddie Wilds had 13 kills with 15 digs. Katie Crutchfield had 26 digs to lead the way. Makenzie O'Loughlin had seven service aces and five blocks.

UP NEXT
Trevecca plays on the road two more times before returning to the Trojan Fieldhouse. A run of meetings with teams in Great Midwest North Division starts when Trevecca heads to Pepper Pike, Ohio to face Ursuline College (1-18, 1-8 Great Midwest) on Friday, Oct. 20. Following that, Trevecca faces Lake Erie College (16-3, 8-1 Great Midwest) in Painesville, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 21.
 
The next home game is Friday, Oct. 27 when Northwood University (12-8, 7-3 Great Midwest) comes to play at the Fieldhouse. Hillsdale College (3-17, 2-8 Great Midwest) visits on Saturday, October 28.
