Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (3-3, 1-2 Great Midwest) finished its first conference road trip of the season with a 3-2 win against Lake Erie College (1-5-1, 0-3 Great Midwest) on Saturday.
THE SERIES
The Trojans control the all-time series with a record of 14-6-1 against Lake Erie. Lake Erie took last year's meeting in Painesville on October 16th, 3-1.
THE MATCH
Michael Martey led the Trojan's charge to start the game as he scored on the first shot of the game just 1:58 into the frame. Both teams got a shot, then Jacob Sieber doubled the Trojan's lead to 2-0 at 9:27 into the first half. Lake Erie responded with two shots of their own and cut their deficit to 2-1 on the second shot in the 15th minute. The Trojans and Lake Erie peppered each other with shots with neither able to capitalize.
The shots on goal continued in the second half. However, Lake Erie got one past Adan Gonzalez in the 64th minute to tie the game at 2-2. The Trojans retook the lead in the 72nd minute when Jonas Grossmann put one past the Lake Erie goalkeeper to make it 3-2. Pablo Martin collected the assist for the goal. The Trojans did not allow another shot the rest of the half to secure the win.

Trevecca returns home to face Kentucky Wesleyan (3-2-1, 0-0-1 Great Midwest) on Wednesday at 7:00 at Trojan Soccer Complex.
