Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (2-4, 1-3 Great Midwest) edged out NCAA Division II No. 25 Lake Erie College (3-2, 3-2 Great Midwest) on Saturday, grabbing a game-winning goal in the 74th minute to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Storm.
Jonas Grossman scored the game-winner in the 74th minute for the Trojans to pick up their first conference win of the season.

THE SERIES
It was the fourth all-time matchup, and the Trojans evened up the all-time series 2-2.
THE MATCH
Trevecca and Lake Erie were locked into a stalemate in the first half, with a scoreless first 45 minutes. Just over 16 minutes into the game, senior goalkeeper Tyler Delgado left with an injury, and was replaced by freshman Isaac Layman – who made his Trevecca debut.
The Trojans broke through in the 74th minute, when Jonas Grossman got an effort past Lake Erie goalkeeper Tom John with an assist from Carlos Bravo. Trevecca was able to hang on for the win, and Layman notched his first career shutout in goal as the Trojans took the 1-0 result.
DETAILS
Grossman was the only goalscorer, and two Trojans received yellow cards in Brady Briley and Cillian Farmer. Freshman Isaac Layman saved two Lake Erie shots in his first career appearance. The Trojans out-shot the Storm 14-11.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca returns to action on April 1 at the Trevecca Soccer Complex for a 4:30 PM tilt against visiting Cedarville University (3-0). Like the nationally-ranked No. 25 Lake Erie Storm, the Yellow Jackets are also in the United Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 at No. 19.
Trevecca hosts Ohio Dominican University (0-3-1, 0-2-1 Great Midwest) Saturday, April 3 in another Great Midwest matchup at Noon.
The Trojans hit the road again April 8 for a Noon date in Canton, Ohio at Malone University (0-4, 0-4 Great Midwest). The Trojans stay in the Northern Ohio area for a match at Walsh University (2-3-1, 1-3 Great Midwest) in North Canton, Ohio on April 10 at 6:30 PM.
The final match of the regular season is set for April 15 when current No. 9 Ohio Valley University (3-0, 3-0 Great Midwest) visits. The Trojans and Fighting Scots kickoff at 7:00 PM.
