Trevecca Volleyball | Fifth-Seed Trojans at Fourth Seed Walsh Tuesday in Great Midwest Championships

NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University (18-10, 9-7 Great Midwest) are headed to the 2021 Great Midwest Athletic Conference as the fifth seed and will face fourth-seed Walsh University (17-10, 11-5 Great Midwest) in North Canton, Ohio. The Great Midwest Quarterfinal is set for a 6:00 PM (CT) start on Tuesday (11.16).

REGULAR SEASON MEETING

Trevecca and Walsh meet for the second time this year, this time at Walsh. The Trojans won the first meeting, 3-2, on October 22 at Trojan Fieldhouse in the regular season. Trevecca won the first set 25-23 and the third set 25-20 before winning 15-13 in the fifth. Walsh won the second 25-19 and forced the fifth set with a 25-23 fourth set win.

Chloee McDaniel shined with 10 kills (.381), 17 digs, 42 assists, and a pair of blocks. Ellie Buffler tallied a team-high 16 kills and finished the night with 20 digs for the double-double. Emma Titus added nine kills and three blocks.

SERIES HISTORY

The Cavaliers own a 6-2 all-time series advantage. Trevecca won the first meeting in 2016, only to see the Cavaliers win the next six before the Trojans won the lone meeting in the regular season this year.

SEASON NOTES

Trevecca opened the season, winning their first seven matches. The 7-0 start is the best in the NCAA Era and the best since the 2003-2004 team started 8-0.

Trevecca produced another six-match win streak at the close of the season to push them into the tournament as the No. 5 seed.

The 18 wins are the most for head coach Emily Moore and any coach since the 2015 team won 20 matches.

It will be the first winning season for Moore since taking over the program.

The nine conference wins are the most for the Trojans in the NCAA D2 era and equal the most since the 2009 team won 11 in the TranSouth (NAIA era)

Coach Emily Moore is now 40-35 overall and 21-18 in Great Midwest play.
