MATCH DETAILS
The Greyhounds won the opening point of the set, but that was about all that went their way. A 6-0 Trojan run from 10-6 to 16-6 proved to be the difference as seven different Trojans recorded a kill in the opening set. The Trojans ran away with the opener, 25-13.
SET TWO
Ellie Buffler's kill opened things in the second for the Trojans who very nearly led wire-to-wire. Buffler's kill made way for an 8-2 opening to the second. Trevecca led by as many seven in the set before the Greyhounds comeback. Down 21-15, Indianapolis rallied for five straight points to make it a game. In fact, a Greyhounds service ace tied it at 24-24 before the Trojans finished it off. Sami Raley got a kill and a Trojan service ace gave Trevecca a 26-24 set two win.
SET THREE
The Trojans opened with the lead off an attack error, but would not lead again until 11-10. Trevecca could only extend its lead to as many as three at 13-10, but a 5-0 run by Indianapolis gave the Greyhounds a 15-13 advantage. The Trojans took the next two points and both squads traded leads until Indianapolis had set point at 24-23. The Trojans were able to fend off one set point, but not a second as the Greyhounds took the third, 26-24.
SET FOUR
The Trojans took control of the fourth with a 4-0 run with the set tied at 5-5. The 9-5 lead proved to be a large enough lead for the Trojans to maintain. The Greyhounds pulled back within two points on three different occasions, but the Trojans' attack was too much as both Ellie Buffler and Austyn Baldwin had five kills each in the Trojan's 25-15 win.
TOP PLAYERS
A trio of Trojans reached double figures in kills, but it was once again Austyn Baldwin who proved handy all throughout the court. Baldwin registered 14 kills to go with two service aces, three digs, and seven of the Trojans' 24 blocks.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans hit .303 (63K, 17E, 152TA) which included an impressive .567 mark in the fourth and final set. Trevecca had 57 assists, 76 digs and eight service aces.
