COLUMBUS, OH – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-3-1, 4-3-0 G-MAC) lost to top Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Ohio Dominican University (6-4-0, 5-2-0 G-MAC) 4-1 at Panther Stadium on Wednesday.

SERIES HISTORY

Since Ohio Dominican joined the G-MAC last season the team have squared off twice. After splitting last season's games, the Panthers now lead the all-time series, 2-1. ODU leads 8-5 on goals scored in the series.

Ohio Dominican broke through first when Ryan Kasprzak scored off a break away at 19:36 … six minutes later the Panthers struck once more … this time Jonathan Barnes scored off a through ball which gave him a break-away … Ethan Keogh (SR/Athlone, Ireland) turned things around for the Trojans when he scored at 29:38 … the goal was Keogh's sixth of the season which is fifth most in the G-MAC this season … in the first half ODU had five fouls to TNU's four … the Panthers outshot the Trojans 11-8 … goalkeeper Tyler Delgado (JR/Spring Hill, TN) made two first half saves to keep things level … ODU's goal scorers in the first half kept pace in the second 45 minutes … Ryan Kasprzak (72:24) and Jonathan Barnes (78:02) gave the Panthers complete control … ODU outshot TNU 15-12 … ODU (12) had more fouls than TNU (9) … ODU took six corner kicks to TNU's two … TNU had four yellow cards to ODU's three.

  

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

*The loss combined with a Cedarville 4-0 rout of Alderson Broaddus puts the Trojans in a four-way tie for second in the conference.

 

*The loss ends the Trojans three match win streak.

  

MAN OF THE MATCH

Ethan Keogh collected his sixth goal of the season to get the Trojans on the scoreboard … with the goal, Keogh is now the Trojans leading goal-scorer and is fifth in the G-MAC.

 

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans return home to host Ohio Valley University (8-1, 4-1 G-MAC) on Saturday, September 29th at 3:30 PM at the Trojan Soccer Complex.

 

The Trojans ended the Fighting Scots' perfect season when they beat them 1-0 last Saturday. The Fighting Scots were ranked #2 in all of Division II entering that match. Read more about the historic win.
