NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (6-4-1, 5-4-0 G-MAC) defeated Walsh University (5-6-1, 3-6-0 G-MAC) 3-1 at the Trevecca Soccer Complex on Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY

The win evens the all-time series at 1-1. The Cavaliers defeated the Trojans, 3-1 last season in the two teams only other meeting.

GAME DETAILS

Ethan Keogh headed in a corner kick for the games first goal at 3:03. David Brookes delivered the corner kick and assist. After Walsh evened the match on a Myles Cornwall goal at 8:50, Nicolas Reinhard scored the game winner on an assist from Shane O'Connell at 21:41. The final tally came off the foot of David Brookes with an assist from Luis Vital at 74:31. Tyler Delgado produced three saves while Brett Ekperuoh had four for Walsh in goal. Keogh leads the Trojans with seven goals and remains tied for the team lead with 15 points on the season. Reinhard kept pace in goals with his sixth and is remained tied with Keogh for the team lead in points with 15.  

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

Trevecca is now tied for fourth in the Great Midwest standings and moves the Trojans above .500 in conference play five matches remaining on the G-MAC slate.

MAN OF THE MATCH

David Brookes assisted on one goal and scored another for a three-point match. It is his first Trojan goal and third assist.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans remain at home to host Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Malone University (3-7-1, 3-5-1 G-MAC) on Saturday, October 6th at 4:30 PM. Malone has an evening game at KWC tonight.

The Trojans and Pioneers have played three times, with Trevecca leading the all-time series 3-0. Last year the Trojans came away with the 4-3 result last season in Canton, Ohio.
