PAINESVILLE, OH – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (7-5-1, 6-5-0 G-MAC) fell to Lake Erie College (6-4-3, 4-4-2 G-MAC) 2-0 Jack Britt Memorial Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Trevecca leads the all-time series 2-1 after taking down the Storm 4-3 last season in Nashville.

The Storm broke through first when Javier Borreguero scored on a breakaway goal at 8:21 … though the Trojans managed five shots the score remained 1-0 in favor of LEC at the half … in the first half LEC had nine fouls to TNU's seven … the Trojans outshot the Storm 5-4 … goalkeeper Tyler Delgado (JR/Spring Hill, TN) (JR/Spring Hill, TN) made one first-half save to keep the score 1-0 … LEC scored once more when Miguel Espinoza broke through at 57:57 … the Storm maintained their 2-0 advantage the rest of the way … TNU and LEC both took 13 shots … LEC (14) had more fouls than TNU (10) … LEC took four corner kicks to TNU's three … LEC had the game's only yellow card.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

*The loss allows both Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Dominican the opportunity to move into fourth place in the G-MAC table. AB (16) and ODU (15) are within a single result of moving ahead of TNU.

*The win Lake Erie allows the Storm to jump from 9th to 6th place in the G-MAC table.

LEC's Javier Borreguero scored the game-winning goal at 8:21 … the goal gave the Storm a 1-0 advantage and LEC never looked back.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans return home to close out their regular season with a three-game homestand.

On Thursday, October 18th, the Trojans welcome conference rival Cedarville University (7-4-2, 6-1-2 G-MAC) at 7:00 PM at the Trojan Soccer Complex.

The Trojans secured their first-ever victory (2-1) over the Yellow Jackets when the teams battled in Nashville last season. 

The all-time series favors Cedarville 10-1-2.

The Trojans also host Ohio Dominican (6-6, 5-4 G-MAC) and Kentucky Wesleyan (1-10-1, 0-8-1) to conclude their regular season.
